HIIT Cardio – an Efficient Way to Burn Fat
Let's explain what HIIT cardio is about – the purpose of the training, its benefits for our body, where it can be used, and what we need to perform it.
For some time, I forgot about HIIT cardio and excluded this shorter, but more physically demanding workout. I was just running at the rhythm of the “fat-burning” heart rate. I'm not saying it's wrong, but when I have been running this way for a long time, my body used to it and stopped responding, so the effort and time didn't bring the expected effect.
What is HIIT Cardio?
The HIIT (high-intensity interval training) cardio involves alternation of a very intense phase when we keep our maximum physical performance for 20 to 45 seconds, and a lighter, relaxing phase which lasts about 3 times longer than the first phase.
What's the purpose of this training?
Great support for muscle building and burning of excess fat in the body.
How can HIIT be beneficial to you?
It improves basal metabolism, reduces fat, sugar and insulin levels in the blood and, in general, enhances physical fitness and stamina.
You can perform this training however you like – using a treadmill, a cross-treadmill, a skipping rope, a bicycle or just jump in one place.
Based on the experience I've gained during my practice in the field of health and sports, and based on observing the progress of my clients, I can confirm that practicing this kind of workout twice a week is ideal and sufficient. Its undisputed advantage is that HIIT can be performed almost anywhere.
